Acupuncture and Herbs

  • I stumbled into Chinese medicine and herbs while living in Taiwan in the late 90s. It was amazing to me how regular citizens seemed to understand and consider the effects of their food, environment, and lifestyle. I later tried some of the herbal medicine and eventually acupuncture for myself and discovered them to be extremely effective.

After battling with intractable asthma, I was relieved to find that there were powerful and palatable treatments that enabled me to breathe easily.

In the years since, I have enjoyed learning about this ancient but relevant medicine. Working with others and teaching them how to care for themselves has been a true joy.

In 2012, I graduated from Daoist Traditions College in Asheville, NC with a four-year Master’s Degree (MAOM) in Classical Chinese Medicine, including herbs, essential oils, massage, food, lifestyle and exercise. I continue to be delighted at how Chinese medicine explains and supports conventional medical treatments even as it fills in the blanks. I enjoy working with children and teens as well as older folks on the many changes and challenges of life.

  • I was first introduced to Chinese Medicine as a teenager at a time when I had experienced temporary hair loss due to high levels of stress. I sought out different healing modalities to help regulate my nervous system, leading me to begin a practice in Qigong and Meditation. Soon after, I developed a deep intrigue in understanding the healing potentials of the energy body. With the use of Acupuncture and Herbs, I was able to restore my health and sense of well-being.

I continued this passion at Daoist Traditions College of Classical Chinese Medical Arts, earning a Masters degree in Acupuncture and Chinese Herbal Medicine.

My hope is to educate and involve individuals in their own internal Qi dynamic by building awareness between the mind and body to promote a holistic healing process that each patient can build upon. I provide gentle, grounded care with each patient, appealing to all ages and anyone who may be new to acupuncture or apprehensive of needles.

My goal with each treatment is to strengthen the bodies’ intrinsic healing abilities while promoting self empowerment. I enjoy treating many complex conditions including digestive and neurologic disorders, autoimmune diseases, hormonal imbalances and stress management.
